Minister Kombo in Zimbabwe for Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has arrived in Victoria Falls to attend the 22nd Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting taking place from October 2 to 3, 2025.

He was received at the Victoria Falls International Airport by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, CP Suzan S. Kaganda, alongside senior government officials from both Tanzania and Zimbabwe. 

His visit comes at the invitation of Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Prof. Dr. Amon Murwira.

The annual meeting is being held under the theme “Innovation for Impact: Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Future-Ready Societies,” which emphasizes the role of innovation, technology, and international cooperation in shaping resilient societies and driving sustainable development.

The programme opened with a Business Forum, bringing together business leaders and investors from Africa and the Nordic region Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. 

The forum seeks to promote trade and investment ties, creating new opportunities for growth between the two regions.

During the meeting, Minister Kombo is expected to highlight Tanzania’s Sixth-Phase Government priorities in areas such as trade, investment, education, technology, and social development. 

He will also reaffirm Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Nordic countries, building on shared values of partnership and innovation.

In addition, Minister Kombo is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several African and Nordic leaders.

 The discussions will focus on enhancing Tanzania’s diplomatic relations and advancing its long-term strategy of working closely with development partners to address regional and global challenges.
