JKT Queens coach Ally Ally has praised Yanga Princess for their impressive performance, even as his team advanced to the Women’s Community Shield final.
In a tense semi-final match at KMC Stadium, Mwenge, Dar es Salaam, JKT Queens eliminated Yanga Princess 6-5 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.
Coach Ally described the match as challenging, noting that Yanga Princess fielded a talented side that matched JKT Queens every step of the way.
“Our opponents played exceptionally well and gave us a real challenge. Although luck favored us in the penalties, we must recognize their determination and quality,” Ally said.
“Now, our focus shifts to preparing for Simba Queens, a strong team known for its competitive edge.”he added
Yanga Princess coach Edna Lema attributed the defeat to a red card, which forced her team to play with a reduced squad.
“We have identified areas where we need improvement and will work hard in training to ensure better performance in future matches,” Lema said.
JKT Queens will face Simba Queens in the Women’s Community Shield final. Before the final, Mashujaa Queens and Yanga Princess will contest the third-place match on October 12 at KMC Complex, Mwenge, Dar es Salaam.
