Acting General Manager of the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Construction and Operation (ETDCO), CPA Sadock Mugendi, has handed over three vehicles to the Acting Director of Technical Services, Engineer Dismas Masawe, to support construction and maintenance of the country’s electrical infrastructure.

The handover took place today, September 30, 2025, at ETDCO Headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking during the ceremony, CPA Mugendi said the vehicles will help technical teams reach project sites quickly and work more efficiently.

“These vehicles will ensure that our engineers and technicians can supervise ongoing projects effectively and respond to maintenance needs across the country without delays,” he said.

Engineer Masawe thanked the management, noting that the vehicles will improve operational efficiency and help the department meet project timelines.

“With these resources, our teams will be able to monitor infrastructure projects better and ensure quality standards are met in every region we serve,” he said.

ETDCO plays a key role in expanding and maintaining Tanzania’s electrical networks. Over the years, the company has been involved in constructing power lines, repairing aging infrastructure, and extending services to rural and underserved areas.

By providing reliable transport for field teams, ETDCO aims to strengthen its capacity to deliver projects that improve access to electricity and support national development goals.

The handover of the vehicles is part of ETDCO’s wider strategy to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and project supervision.

The move reflects the company’s commitment to ensuring that Tanzania’s electrical infrastructure is developed and maintained in a timely and sustainable manner.
