Young Africans (Yanga) lifted the Tanzania Community Shield after a 1–0 victory over archrivals Simba at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Ivorian forward Pacome Zouzoua scored the only goal of the encounter in the second half, securing Yanga the first silverware of the new season and handing their supporters bragging rights in the country’s most anticipated fixture.

The clash attracted a packed stadium, with fans creating a vibrant atmosphere as the two giants of Tanzanian football battled for supremacy. Simba pressed for an equaliser late in the game, but Yanga’s defence held firm to ensure the win.

For Yanga, the triumph marks a strong start to the season and adds another trophy to their collection, underscoring their determination to remain dominant both domestically and in continental competitions.

The Community Shield traditionally serves as the curtain-raiser for the new campaign, and this year’s edition once again showcased the intensity and passion of the Yanga–Simba rivalry.
