Bukombe Constituency has witnessed significant development in recent years, driven by projects supported by the Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
As voters prepare for the October 29 general elections, CCM candidates are highlighting tangible progress in infrastructure, education, and healthcare across the district.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Runzewe West Ward on September 16, 2025, CCM parliamentary candidate Doto Mashaka Biteko outlined the achievements made over the past five years.
“We have constructed new roads, expanded water supply projects, and advanced the Msasa initiative to reach more residents. We’ve also built a new District Council office, a modern market, and a bus terminal to improve access to services,” Dr. Biteko said.
Education has also received a major boost, with five secondary schools now offering Forms Five and Six, and plans underway to establish a university in Bukombe.
Additional schools and storage facilities have been developed to support local communities.
Healthcare improvements have been notable, with Dr. Biteko and local leaders facilitating the construction of health centers, including the Msonga Health Center, and upgrading existing facilities. Plans are also in place to expand electricity coverage to all hamlets in Runzewe East Ward.
“Development here is not just about buildings and roads; it’s about improving the daily lives of residents,” Dr. Biteko said.
“Every project is designed to ensure that communities have access to education, healthcare, and basic services.”
Local CCM councilor candidates, including Patrick Isongolo for Runzewe West and Mary Nchiba for Runzewe East, emphasized the impact of these initiatives on residents’ lives.
Isongolo highlighted improvements to local roads and bridges, which have eased transport and trade, while Nchiba noted the positive changes in healthcare access and community services.
With 17,006 registered voters in the area, leaders are encouraging residents to participate in the upcoming election to continue the development momentum.
“Every vote counts in shaping the future of Bukombe,” Dr. Biteko said.
