Residents of Ubungo can breathe easier as District Commissioner (DC) Albert Msando visited the Ruvu Juu water plant on Friday, expressing satisfaction with restored water production and pledging tighter oversight to prevent future shortages.
Accompanied by the District Security and Defense Committee and DAWASA officials, DC Msando personally inspected the plant to ensure water supply for thousands of households is back on track.
“We have seen with our own eyes that water production is running smoothly. Maintenance works that caused disruptions are now complete, and services are returning to residents,” Msando said.
He issued clear directives to DAWASA staff in Ubungo: ensure water reaches every household without delays, communicate promptly about any interruptions, and strictly manage rationing schedules.
“Water loss is unacceptable. The government invests heavily to treat this water before it reaches consumers. Every drop must count,” he added.
Engineer Juma Kasekwa, manager of Ruvu Juu, said production is back to normal and service is improving in previously affected areas. He revealed that the government has allocated over TZS 1 billion to purchase and install two new pumps, which will further boost water output by November.
DC Msando’s hands-on approach highlights the government’s commitment to reliable water supply and the urgency of valuing every investment made to serve the community.
