Tanzania has showcased its vast investment opportunities in the livestock and fisheries sectors, highlighting the country’s potential to attract both regional and international investors.
The announcement was made by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, Agnes Meena, during the African Food Systems Forum on September 4, 2025, at the “Deal Room” in Dakar, Senegal.
Meena emphasized that Tanzania is rich in livestock and fisheries resources that support industrial raw materials, including abundant natural water sources such as oceans, rivers, and lakes that enable fisheries activities and aquaculture.
She also highlighted the availability of land suitable for livestock farming and commercial feed production.
“Tanzania offers strategic investment areas in meat, milk, poultry, livestock products, and fish, as well as in aquaculture and value addition to livestock and fisheries products,” Meena said.
She further pointed out that the country has a ready market for products due to its large population and strategic geographic location, which provides easy access to both regional and international markets.
