Last season’s runners-up, Korosho Queens, extended their losing streak after falling in straight sets (3-0) to a resurgent Bandari.
KIUT, on the other hand, reinforced their commanding form with another emphatic 3-0 victory, this time against Notorious, underlining their title ambitions.
In the men’s fixtures, Nyika cruised past Best Six with a clean 3-0 win, maintaining their bright start to the round.
Bandari compounded Moro Warriors’ woes by inflicting a second successive 3-0 defeat, leaving the Warriors struggling to find rhythm.
High Voltage staged a strong comeback from their earlier defeat, sweeping Genesis 3-0 in a spirited performance that lifted their morale.
Best Six’s coach admitted that his team is still under reconstruction and focusing on long-term development rather than immediate results.
“We are in the process of building a competitive side. My priority is to give players the needed exposure so that by next year we can return much stronger,” he said after their loss.
For Korosho Queens, injuries continue to disrupt their campaign. Coach Said Mkulipo revealed that his side is missing a key middle blocker who sustained a knee injury during training.
“We have lost matches in succession, which has affected the players’ confidence in both defense and attack. We do have a replacement, but she is still inexperienced. We are working on her, and we believe in the coming tournaments we will bounce back,” he said.
Today’s action promises more excitement as High Voltage clash with Moro Warriors, KIUT take on Mipango, and Genesis face Best Six.
