Tanzanite Queens secured a commanding 4-0 win over Angola in a U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier at Chamazi Stadium yesterday, yet head coach Bakari Shime has warned that the team still faces gaps in defense, midfield link-up, and attack.
Shime said the victory, while encouraging, exposed areas that need improvement. “We won the match, but our overall performance was not as solid as it should have been. We allowed the opponents space to play, and with better focus, we could have scored even more goals,” he noted.
The coach revealed that the team would return to training to address these shortcomings and sharpen their play ahead of upcoming fixtures.
“Our aim is to strengthen our defense, improve our transitions, and create more attacking opportunities so we can dominate more comprehensively in future games,” Shime added.
Goals for the Queens came from Winfrida Hubert and Hasnath Ubamba, who each scored twice, underlining the team’s attacking potential despite tactical gaps.
