Simba SC face uncertainty as coach Davids departs for Raja Casablanca

Simba SC are entering a period of uncertainty after the sudden resignation of head coach Fadlu Davids, who left immediately following the club’s 1-0 CAF Champions League victory over Gaborone United in Botswana.

Davids, who did not travel back to Dar es Salaam with the team, is expected to be unveiled this week as head coach of Morocco’s Raja Casablanca.

His decision to part ways with the Tanzanian giants, along with four members of his technical team, leaves Simba searching for stability as the season gains momentum.

The club has now placed its trust in interim coach Juma Mgunda Matola, supported by fitness trainer Riedoh Berdien, to guide the team through its upcoming NBC Premier League clash against Fountain Gate.

For Simba supporters, Davids’ departure raises questions about the club’s long-term direction. While the coach is set for a high-profile return to Raja, where he previously helped secure an unbeaten Botola Pro title, Simba must quickly regroup to maintain competitiveness both domestically and on the continent.

Club insiders say management is assessing options for a permanent replacement, with pressure mounting to ensure continuity in results and performance.

Davids’ exit may prove a turning point for Simba, as the club balances immediate challenges on the pitch with the need for a clear coaching vision.

Fans will be watching closely to see whether the interim setup can keep the team on course before a new head coach is appointed.
