Members of the Road Fund Board (RFB) have inspected ongoing maintenance works along the 66.7-kilometre Dodoma–Kitinku road, identifying sections that need further improvement to ensure safer and more reliable travel.

The inspection, part of a government-funded project through the Road Fund, was led by RFB Chairman Engineer Mussa Bally Natty.

During the visit, board members reviewed several key interventions. At Kizota, they examined a newly constructed 450-metre drain designed to protect the road surface and reduce the impact of flooding on nearby communities.

In Nala Mizani, the team observed the application of a new concrete layer aimed at strengthening the road and minimizing damage caused by heavy vehicles using the weighbridge.

In Bahi, resurfacing works covering 150 metres with asphalt were also inspected, addressing sections that had previously caused disruptions to road users.

Acting TANROADS Regional Manager for Dodoma, Engineer Christina Nyamziga, said the maintenance project has cost TZS 911 million. She noted that works are now at the final stage and ready for formal inspection.

The Road Fund Board continues its oversight of road maintenance projects in Singida, Manyara, and Arusha regions, ensuring government-funded works meet quality and safety standards for all road users.
