A high-profile delegation of business leaders from Oman is in Tanzania’s Coast Region to assess industrial and trade activities, as the two countries step up efforts to deepen investment ties.
Led by Dr. Salem Al-Junaibi, Chairman of the Al Wusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a board member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the delegation toured several facilities in the region, signaling Oman’s growing interest in Tanzania’s investment landscape.
At Union Meat Factory in Kibaha, the Omani visitors observed meat processing operations and held discussions on potential cooperation in agriculture and livestock.
The focus, officials said, is on expanding value chains in industrial products such as processed meat.
The team also visited the KAMAKA Industrial Area, where they were briefed on infrastructure upgrades and the government’s drive to attract both local and foreign investors.
Regional authorities highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at making the business environment more competitive and investment-friendly.
On Monday, September 8, 2025, the delegation is scheduled to hold talks at the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) headquarters in Dar es Salaam, where the two sides will sign a Cooperation Agreement.
Later, the business leaders will join a Tanzania–Oman Business and Investment Forum at Johari Rotana Hotel, which will bring together stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
The visit comes as Tanzania positions itself as a strategic trade and investment hub in East Africa, offering opportunities in agriculture, industry, and infrastructure.
For Oman, the engagement reflects a growing appetite to expand partnerships with African markets.
