Majaliwa launches Mchinga parliamentary campaign, highlights development projects

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa officially launched the parliamentary campaign for Mchinga constituency on September 7, 2025, at Rutamba village in Lindi Region, using the platform to showcase ongoing and planned development projects in the area.

Majaliwa emphasized that the CCM 2025/2030 election manifesto focuses on accelerating development across the country, particularly in Lindi.

 Key initiatives include gas projects, the Kilwa fishing port, reconstruction of the Dar-Lindi road, upgrades to Lindi airport, and the Southern railway corridor.

 Plans to connect Lindi to the national electricity grid were also highlighted to ensure reliable power for residents and businesses.

“President Dr. Samia has mobilized billions of Tanzanian shillings for projects that improve citizens’ lives,” Majaliwa said.

 “The manifesto outlines additional initiatives that will benefit our communities and boost economic growth.”he added

He pointed out that the upcoming tarmacking of the Ngongo-Ng’apa, Mandawa to Chikundi road will significantly improve mobility for residents and open up business opportunities.

 Over the past five years, Mchinga has seen improvements in healthcare services, including the introduction of four ambulances and the construction of new health centers and dispensaries.

Parliamentary candidate Salma Kikwete highlighted her achievements in water provision, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.

 She noted a recently completed water project from Ng’apa that will expand access to several villages and pledged to continue improving health services.

 “We have made progress in many sectors, but there is still more to achieve for the people of Mchinga,” she said.

Former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete praised President Samia for her leadership and quick impact since assuming office unexpectedly.

 “She has delivered results in a short period. Supporting her ensures continued progress for all citizens,” he said.

Mtama parliamentary candidate Nape Nnauye, speaking on behalf of other Lindi candidates, noted strong support in the southern region for President Samia, particularly for initiatives such as agricultural input subsidies that benefit local farmers.

The launch of the Mchinga campaign highlighted CCM’s commitment to translating development plans into tangible benefits for the people of Lindi Region, reinforcing infrastructure growth, social services, and economic opportunities.
