Lushoto. Former CCM Secretary General, Yusuf Makamba, has appealed to residents of Bumbuli Constituency and the wider Tanga Region to rally behind President Samia Suluhu Hassan in the upcoming general election, alongside the party’s parliamentary and ward councilor candidates.
Makamba, who served as CCM Secretary General from 2007 to 2011, delivered his message by phone on Monday during a campaign rally at Soni in Lushoto District, where the party’s vice-presidential running mate, Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, was addressing supporters.
He specifically endorsed Bumbuli parliamentary candidate, Engineer Ramadhani Singano, saying he had full confidence in his ability to represent the constituency effectively.
Makamba added that health challenges prevented him from attending the rally in person but assured supporters that his commitment to the party’s success remained steadfast.
“I have confidence in all our candidates. I kindly urge you to support President Samia, our parliamentary aspirant, and all ward councilor nominees so that CCM continues to lead this nation forward,” Makamba said.
Dr Nchimbi, who placed the call to Makamba while on stage, said the veteran leader’s words were a reminder of CCM’s long-standing unity and its call for collective responsibility.
He urged voters across Tanga to turn out in large numbers on October 29, 2025, to secure a decisive victory for the ruling party.
