The Tanzania Public, Institutional, and Private Sports Federation (SHIMMUTA) has confirmed that this year’s annual games will take place from November 15 to 30 in Mwanza City.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, SHIMMUTA Vice President Noel Kiunsi said preparations are progressing smoothly to ensure the competitions are organized professionally.
“Seminars have already been conducted for sports leaders, officials, association representatives, sports doctors, coaches, and physical education teachers as part of the preparations,” Kiunsi explained.
“These games are on a grand scale, comparable to the Olympics, as they feature a wide range of sports and aim to promote cooperation between institutions,” he added.
All participating teams are expected to arrive at the competition venue by November 14, ahead of the official opening on November 15.
Kiunsi also called on employers across the country to allow their employees sufficient time for training, enabling them to compete at the highest level.
Regarding the patron of the games, traditionally the Vice President of the United Republic, Kiunsi said the official opening will be conducted by the individual appointed after the upcoming general election.
