Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa yesterday launched the ruling party’s parliamentary campaigns in Nachingwea, calling on voters to rally behind President Samia Suluhu Hassan and all CCM candidates in the October 29 General Election.

Speaking at the Malori grounds in Nachingwea town, Mr Majaliwa, who is also a member of CCM’s National Executive Committee, told residents that the party’s new five-year manifesto offered practical solutions to improve people’s lives and unlock more opportunities for growth.

“Turn out in large numbers and vote for President Samia, your Member of Parliament, and councilors. Even if our candidate is unopposed, don’t take it lightly go and cast your vote. Nachingwea must stand strong with CCM so we can deliver on the promises in our 2025–2030 manifesto,” he said.

The Premier pointed to ongoing flagship projects in the district, including a Sh119 billion water project stretching from Nyangao and Ruangwa to Nachingwea, which he said would benefit several villages in the area.

He also confirmed that the government had set aside funds to construct the long-awaited Ruangwa–Nachingwea road.

Mr Majaliwa took time to endorse CCM’s parliamentary candidate, Mr Fadhili Liwaka, praising him as a hardworking and trustworthy leader.

“I know Liwaka well. He is dedicated and understands what it takes to deliver. I have no doubt he will put Nachingwea first,” he said.

In his address, Mr Liwaka outlined his priorities, pledging to focus on infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and livestock development if elected.

“One of my main ambitions is to push for the construction of the Nachingwea–Masasi road to tarmac level. I also want to tackle the challenges facing education by building hostels to reduce the number of girls walking long distances to school,” he said.

Mr Liwaka further promised to work on resolving recurring disputes between farmers and livestock keepers, envisioning a day when the two groups would celebrate unity together.

“I dream of a time when pastoralists will bring cattle for slaughter and farmers will bring maize for food, and we sit down to share a meal in harmony,” he said.

The campaign launch attracted hundreds of residents, with speakers consistently underscoring the importance of continuity in leadership to accelerate local development.
