Thousands of residents in Geita Region gathered in Uyovu Ward, Bukombe District, as Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) officially launched its 2025–2030 election manifesto, highlighting development achievements and calling for unity ahead of the October polls.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, who is also the Bukombe parliamentary candidate, emphasized that the upcoming election is a chance for citizens to influence the region’s growth.

“This is an election for our future. Every vote matters. It is not about politics; it is about improving roads, electricity, healthcare, education, and business opportunities for all residents,” he said.

Biteko urged citizens to participate actively and peacefully in the election, reminding them that development projects already underway are the result of public engagement.

He highlighted the construction of new schools, hospitals, and health centres, as well as electrification reaching all 486 villages in Geita.

“These projects are changing daily life. But greater progress depends on citizen participation,” he said.

CCM Geita Regional Chairman, Nicholaus Kasendamila, also noted the tangible benefits seen in the region under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, including the Dar es Salaam Port expansion, Busisi Bridge, Julius Nyerere Hydropower Plant, and the Standard Gauge Railway.

“Through these projects, Tanzanians are experiencing real improvements in transport, trade, and energy. Citizens are at the center of this progress,” Kasendamila said.

Residents attending the rally expressed optimism about ongoing development. Many noted that new health centres reduce travel for medical care, electrification supports small businesses, and new schools create opportunities for children.

The rally highlighted the role citizens play in shaping policies that directly affect their lives.

Biteko also pointed to upcoming projects in Bukombe, including a vocational training college under VETA and a solar power plant, which will provide both skills and sustainable energy for local communities.

The campaign launch ended with a call for citizens to welcome CCM’s vice-presidential running mate, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, who begins his tour of Geita on September 5.

Leaders stressed that development is a shared responsibility and that active citizen participation ensures the benefits of government programs reach every household.
