Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), Tanzania’s flagship medical institution, has appointed Dr. Delilah Kimambo as its new Chief Executive Officer amid significant nationwide healthcare reforms aimed at improving service delivery and infrastructure.
In an interview with UTV, Dr. Kimambo said her mandate will focus on operational efficiency, strengthening human capital through continuous professional development, expanding hospital infrastructure, and fostering stronger patient-provider relationships.
“I have assumed this role at a critical time of transformation. My objective is to ensure these reforms translate into measurable improvements for patients and the wider health sector,” Dr. Kimambo said.
The appointment reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize healthcare delivery, enhance institutional capacity, and raise service standards in Tanzania’s public health system.
Dr. Kimambo thanked the government for the trust, underscoring that her leadership is aligned with national priorities to improve access, safety, and quality of care for citizens.
