More than 800 residents received services at the booth of the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) during the 8th National Mining Exhibition held in Geita
According to TARURA’s Social Welfare Officer in Geita Region, Mr. Godfrey Vedasto, a total of 814 people visited the booth including 444 men and 374 women.
“Many of the visitors commended us for the significant work we are doing to open up road networks in their areas, while others sought clarification on how we address road maintenance challenges,” Vedasto said.
He added that some residents also inquired about compensation procedures for projects implemented by the agency.
“Before any project begins, TARURA provides education on compensation, but there are still citizens who require further awareness on these processes,” he explained.
In addition, TARURA provided education on road infrastructure preservation, reminding citizens to act as ambassadors in protecting roads and drainage systems, to last longer.
Vedasto concluded that the exhibition was highly beneficial for TARURA, as it created an opportunity to reach a large number of residents and directly address their concerns regarding road infrastructure in their localities.
