Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC (Yanga) have confirmed they will depart for Rwanda on August 13 to take on Rayon Sport in a high-profile international friendly.

The match, scheduled for August 15, will be played in Kigali and forms part of Rayon Sport’s special team day celebrations.

The fixture will also serve as a valuable pre-season test for Yanga as they gear up for the new campaign.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Yanga Media and Communications Manager, Ally Kamwe, said preparations are in full swing.

“The team is training hard and getting into top shape ahead of the game. This will be an important part of our preparations for the upcoming season,” Kamwe explained.

He also encouraged the club’s supporters to travel with the team and create a strong presence in Rwanda.

“We call on all our fans, members, and well-wishers to make arrangements to join us and cheer on the team during this exciting trip,” he added.

Yanga’s clash with Rayon Sport is expected to draw significant attention, not only for the rivalry between the two East African sides but also for the festive atmosphere that will surround the celebrations in Kigali.
