Tanzanian Ambassador to Sweden,Mobhare Matinyi, met with Sweden’s Foreign Minister, Maria Malmer Stenergard, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offices in Stockholm.
Ambassador Matinyi conveyed greetings from President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to the people and Government of Sweden.
He highlighted Tanzania’s commitment to deepening diplomatic relations and boosting economic cooperation between the two nations.
The ambassador noted that Tanzania continues to strengthen its economy through partnerships with Sweden in energy, education, health, research, environment, industry, and infrastructure, including the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project.
So far, 101 Swedish companies have invested in Tanzania, contributing USD 313.04 million and creating around 3,877 jobs.
Minister Stenergard reaffirmed Sweden’s commitment to expanding trade and investment ties with Tanzania.
She also recognized Tanzania’s crucial role in promoting peace and security globally, particularly in supporting efforts to resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
