Tanzania’s national football team, Taifa Stars, will tomorrow battle the Central African Republic in their final Group B match of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, aiming to seal the group stage with a perfect record.
The Stars have already booked their spot in the quarter-finals after winning all three of their matches so far, collecting nine points and sitting comfortably at the top of the group.
Speaking at a press briefing today, Head Coach Hemed Suleiman “Morocco” said the mission is clear end the group stage with another victory and carry momentum into the knockout rounds.
“My squad is ready for tomorrow’s match. From day one, we set ourselves two main goals: win every match and finish as group leaders. We’re determined to keep that promise. I urge fans to come in large numbers to cheer the boys,” he said.
Suleiman noted that while each match has presented its own challenges, his players’ discipline, determination, and unity have been key to their success so far.
“Every game has been tough, but the players have shown great focus and fighting spirit. That’s why we are where we are now and we want to finish this phase in style,” he added.
Team goalkeeper Aishi Manula, speaking on behalf of his teammates, said the players share the same ambition: winning the championship.
“We’re fully prepared, highly motivated, and ready to give Tanzanians the entertainment they deserve. Our focus is on fighting for the title, not just tomorrow’s match,” said Manula.
