Stakeholders across Tanzania who care deeply about the nation and its football team have been urged to continue supporting the Taifa Stars by purchasing match tickets.
This will help provide opportunities for fans who cannot afford tickets to still attend and enjoy the games.
Tanzania is preparing to face the Central African Republic in their final group stage match of the CHAN 2024 tournament, scheduled for August 16, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking on August 12, 2025, Neema Msitha, Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council (BMT), praised the ticket distribution system as efficient and well-managed.
She emphasized ongoing efforts to raise awareness among fans and stakeholders, ensuring that when tickets are available, they will be distributed smoothly. This will allow fans to enter the stadium calmly and enjoy a quality football experience.
“We are grateful to stakeholders who have supported us since the start of the tournament, including the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner and District Commissioners, who have mobilized citizens to fill the stadium. Their efforts have helped generate 40 million Tanzanian shillings. Regional leaders from Dodoma, Mwanza, and Tabora have also contributed significantly,” Msitha said.
She added, “As we approach the conclusion of the group stage, our team has performed admirably, thanks largely to the overwhelming support from both the public and our stakeholders.”
Msitha also highlighted recent contributions from corporate partners: “Stakeholders are rallying behind our slogan, ‘This is our team.’
For example, CRDB Bank has donated tickets worth 20 million shillings, while Azam has pledged performance bonuses to players, offering rewards of up to 50 million shillings based on match wins and tournament progress.”
