Sauti ya Umma (SAU) presidential hopeful Majalio Paul Kyara and his running mate Satia Mussa Bebwa have formally collected their nomination forms from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), marking a key step in their bid for the country’s top offices in the 2025 General Election.
The forms were issued today, August 13, at INEC headquarters in Dar es Salaam by the Commission’s Chairperson, Court of Appeal Judge Jacobs Mwambegele.
Mr Kyara, who is seeking the presidency on the SAU ticket, was accompanied by Ms Bebwa, his vice-presidential candidate. The official nomination process is set for August 27, 2025.
Judge Mwambegele handed over the nomination package to Mr Kyara, while INEC Director of Elections, Ramadhan Kailima, guided the candidates on completing the documents and signing the Commission’s register.
Both candidates signed the official book in the presence of election officials and members of the media.
Judge Mwambegele emphasised the importance of adhering to the nomination guidelines to ensure a smooth process in the lead-up to the polls.
The 2025 General Election is expected to draw significant competition, with contenders from across the political spectrum seeking the mandate to lead the United Republic of Tanzania.
