Mining Commission staff trained on NHIF self-service registration system

Staff of the Mining Commission Headquarters have received training on the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) Self-Service registration system, a move aimed at simplifying the process of enrolling members and their dependents into the health insurance scheme.

The training was officially opened in Dodoma by the Acting Director of Human Resources and Administration at the Mining Commission, Jacob Mnyenyelwa, who emphasized the importance of adopting the digital platform to avoid operational challenges that may arise from manual procedures.

Mnyenyelwa noted that the Self-Service system is a crucial tool for both employees and NHIF members, enabling them to register quickly, transparently, and cost-effectively without the need to frequently visit NHIF offices.

Conducted by NHIF experts, the training targeted selected staff from various departments and units within the Mining Commission, who were appointed as Champions.

These Champions will be responsible for cascading the knowledge to other employees at the Commission’s headquarters.

“These sessions are vital for our staff who are members of NHIF, as they will ease the registration process on the NHIF Self-Service system,” Mnyenyelwa said during the opening session.

Through the new system, members will be able to independently register themselves and their dependents.

The initiative is expected to enhance efficiency in service delivery while strengthening collaboration between NHIF and the Mining Commission.
