The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed an objection against ACT-Wazalendo parliamentary candidate, Ms. Rosemary Kasimbi Kirigini, allowing her to continue her campaign for the Meatu constituency.
The objection was lodged by CCM candidate Mr. Salum Khamis Salum on August 27, 2025. After reviewing Ms. Rosemary’s defense, the Returning Officer for Meatu, Eng. Elieza Reuben Mayengo, confirmed that she meets all the legal requirements to contest the parliamentary seat.
The decision was made in line with Section 48 of the Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government Elections Act No. 1 of 2024 and Article 67 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania.
With the objection dismissed, Ms. Rosemary Kasimbi Kirigini will now continue her journey to win the Meatu parliamentary seat on the ACT-Wazalendo ticket.
