The Tanzania national amputee football team, Tembo Warriors, has named a provisional squad of 25 players as it gears up for the upcoming CECAAF Championship scheduled to take place in Bujumbura, Burundi, from September 8 to 14, 2025.
Announcing the squad on July 30, Head Coach Ivo Mapunda said the players were selected based on their outstanding performance during the recently concluded Azam Football Amputee Tournament held in Dar es Salaam.
He noted that the list also includes a few Tanzanian professionals currently playing in Turkey.
“These players were chosen for demonstrating exceptional talent and discipline. They come from various clubs across Mainland Tanzania, Zanzibar, and overseas. The next step is to bring them into camp for intensive preparation ahead of the regional tournament,” said Coach Mapunda.
