In 2025, the national Uhuru Torch campaign launched, laid foundation stones, and inspected development projects worth over TZS 19.17 billion in Tabora District, located in Tabora Region.

Speaking during the event today, the National Leader of the Freedom Torch race, Mr. Ismail Ally Usi, commended the leadership of Tabora District for their effective supervision of the projects, all of which were approved by the Freedom Torch initiative for official launching.

"The leadership of Tabora District has set a commendable example. These projects meet national standards and bring great hope to the people," said Mr. Usi.

During the ceremony, the District Commissioner of Sikonge, Thomas Myinga, officially handed over the Freedom Torch to the District Commissioner of Tabora, Upendo Wella, to continue the relay within the district.

The inaugurated projects span key sectors such as education, health, water, and infrastructure. They form part of the implementation of the ruling party's manifesto and the Government's broader strategy to improve the livelihoods of residents in Tabora District.

Residents turned out in large numbers to witness the event and praised the Government's efforts, while being encouraged to participate in the protection and sustainability of the projects for the benefit of the entire community.
