The Commissioner for Conservation at the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), CPA Musa Nassoro Kuji, has called on conservation officers and rangers based at the Dodoma Liaison Office to become a central source of reliable and attractive information for visitors with an interest in exploring Tanzania’s national parks.

Speaking during his visit to the office on July 23, 2025, Commissioner Kuji emphasized the strategic importance of Dodoma as the heart of the nation both geographically and administratively making it a critical point for engaging domestic and international guests.

“Dodoma is not only our capital city but also a fast-growing commercial hub. You must act as an effective bridge for visitors provide them with compelling, clear, and accurate information that inspires them to explore our national parks,” he said.

The Commissioner was welcomed by Senior Conservation Officer Prisca Elisia Lyimo, who represented the Acting Assistant Commissioner for Conservation, Dr. Noelia Myonga. Officer Lyimo assured the Commissioner of the team’s commitment to national goals through diligence and patriotism.

“Commissioner, we are working with dedication and are fully ready to carry out your directives to support both the organization’s and the country’s mission,” she said.

Commissioner Kuji commended the team for their efforts in strengthening TANAPA’s relations with stakeholders in the conservation and tourism sectors.

He urged them to maintain a strong sense of responsibility, unity, and discipline while embracing professionalism in service delivery.

He also stressed the importance of upholding ethical standards, delivering at the highest level of performance, and having a deep understanding of TANAPA’s broader mission protecting biodiversity and promoting responsible tourism that benefits the nation.

The meeting further provided a platform to issue strategic instructions focused on strengthening institutional performance, enhancing collaboration with other conservation partners, and implementing directives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism.

These efforts, he said, are vital in realizing the country’s vision for a thriving and sustainable conservation and tourism economy.

As Tanzania continues to attract visitors from across the globe, TANAPA’s presence in the capital city is expected to play a critical role in shaping first impressions, offering guidance, and directing tourists toward the unique natural treasures found within the nation’s vast network of protected areas.
