In a bold move to rebuild their squad, Simba Queens have released 11 players ahead of the 2025/2026 season. The decision follows a disappointing campaign in which the club failed to defend its championship title.
According to an official statement, the departures are part of a wider restructuring process aimed at strengthening the team and achieving the club’s competitive targets for the upcoming season.
“The changes are based on the club’s strategic goals moving forward. Some players have reached the end of their contracts, while others have left following mutual agreements,” the club confirmed.
The players released include key names such as Rittacia Nabossa, Precious Christopher, Wincate Kaari, Asha Djafari, and Gelwa Yonah.
Also leaving the club are Josephine Julius, Asha Rashid, Mary Saiki, Carolyene Rufa, Jackline Albert, and Daniella Ngoya.
Simba Queens are now expected to make several new signings as they gear up for a fresh start in the new season, with hopes of reclaiming their dominance in women’s football both locally and regionally.
