In the men's category, KVZ emerged victorious in a tightly contested match, edging out JKU 3–2 in a five-set thriller. Mafunzo, eager to bounce back from a previous loss, redeemed themselves with a convincing 3–1 win over Polisi.
On the women’s side, KMKM suffered a 3–1 defeat in a competitive encounter, adding to the drama of the ongoing league campaign.
The excitement is far from over, as the league continues tomorrow, June 29, with a key women's match between JKU and KVZ. The match is scheduled for 4:00 PM and is expected to draw a strong crowd.
Ameir Msimu, Chairperson of the Zanzibar Volleyball Federation (ZVF) Technical Commission, has urged fans and sports lovers to turn out in large numbers to support the players.
He emphasized that fan support plays a crucial role in boosting morale and encouraging athletes to showcase their full potential.
“The energy from the stands truly inspires our players,” said Msimu. “Let’s come together and support this beautiful game as it continues to grow in Zanzibar.”
