Ukerewe Queens have been crowned champions of the 2024/2025 Women's First Division League (WFDL) after an impressive 3-0 victory over Bilo FC in the final played today, June 16, at Nyamagana Stadium in Mwanza.
The dominant performance saw Ukerewe Queens lift the coveted title and secure promotion to the Tanzania Women’s Premier League (FDL) for the 2025/2026 season.
Their clinical display in the final showcased the team’s strength, determination, and quality throughout the competition.
Bilo FC, despite the defeat, finished as runners-up and also earned promotion to the top flight alongside the champions.
In the third-place playoff, Ruangwa Queens claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Geita Queens, securing the final promotion spot to the Premier League. Their resilience and strong finish ensured a historic promotion to the country’s elite women’s league.
With Ukerewe Queens, Bilo FC, and Ruangwa Queens all moving up, the 2025/2026 season of the Tanzania Women’s Premier League promises to be even more exciting, with fresh talent and fierce competition on display.
