The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued the national weather outlook for the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 PM on Thursday, 12 June 2025.

Most parts of the country are expected to experience generally fair weather, with partly cloudy conditions and periods of sunshine.

In the Tanga Region, including the islands of Unguja and Pemba, residents can expect partly cloudy skies with a chance of light rain showers in a few areas, as well as intervals of sunshine.

Elsewhere covering the regions of Pwani (including Mafia isles), Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Lindi, Mtwara, Kigoma, Tabora, Rukwa, Dodoma, Singida, Kagera, Geita, Mwanza, Simiyu, Mara, Shinyanga, Ruvuma, Iringa, Njombe, Songwe, and Mbeya weather conditions will remain mostly stable, with partly cloudy skies and sunny spells expected throughout the day.

However, a marine warning has been issued for all coastal areas. Strong winds reaching speeds above 40 kilometres per hour, along with large waves exceeding 2 metres, are forecast along the Indian Ocean coast.

This includes the regions of Lindi, Mtwara, Tanga, Dar es Salaam, and Pwani (including Mafia isles), as well as Unguja and Pemba.

Coastal winds are expected to flow from the south at speeds of up to 50 kilometres per hour, and the sea state will be rough. Fisherfolk and marine operators are advised to take necessary precautions.

Temperatures across the country will vary significantly. The highest temperatures are expected in Kigoma at 32°C, followed by Tabora at 31°C and Dar es Salaam at 30°C.

On the cooler side, Njombe will see a minimum temperature of 9°C, while Mbeya and Iringa will record lows of 10°C and 11°C respectively.

Sunrise and sunset times will vary by region, with the earliest sunrise in Tanga at 6:29 AM and the latest sunset in Kigoma at 6:54 PM.

Looking ahead to Saturday, 14 June 2025, the TMA warns that strong winds and large waves are expected to continue along parts of the coast. Residents and marine users are urged to stay informed through official weather updates.
