As part of its continued commitment to promoting sports and nurturing young talent, NMB Bank has donated football kits to students participating in the UMISSETA games in Same District.

The kits were officially handed over to Same District Executive Director, Ms. Upendo Wella, by the NMB Branch Manager in Same, Mr. Saad Masawila.

Speaking during the handover ceremony held on June 2, 2025, Mr. Masawila emphasized that the bank’s support goes beyond providing sports equipment.

He announced that students who qualify for the national level will each receive a special savings account with a starting balance, opened in their names.

"At NMB, we believe that investing in youth is investing in the future of our nation. These accounts will not only support their immediate needs but also encourage a culture of saving from an early age," he said.

In her remarks, Ms. Upendo Wella commended NMB for their generous support and urged the student-athletes to remain disciplined and dedicated throughout their training camp.

She emphasized that strong performance could earn them a spot on the Kilimanjaro regional team for the national UMISSETA competition in Iringa.

"These young people are tomorrow’s hope. By performing well, they not only build their personal reputations but also promote the image of Same District. I encourage them to give their best," she added during her speech marking the official close of the district training camp.

The Executive Director of Same District Council, Mr. Jimson Mhagama, also stressed the importance of discipline among players, noting that good behavior in camp forms the foundation for success in both regional and national competitions.

The UMISSETA games provide a vital platform for secondary school students to showcase their talents and learn the values of sportsmanship. Support from institutions like NMB continues to play a crucial role in the development of school sports across the country.
