The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has invited businesspeople and investors from Kosovo to explore strategic investment opportunities in Tanzania across five key sectors: agriculture, mining, technology, grain storage, and tourism.
Minister Kombo extended the invitation on June 3, 2025, in Prishtina, during a meeting with the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, along with representatives from various sectors including industrial manufacturing, trade, technology, agriculture, energy, and mining.
During the discussions, Minister Kombo emphasized that Tanzania remains a safe and attractive destination for both local and foreign investors.
He highlighted the five key areas for potential collaboration with Kosovo: agriculture, mining, technology, grain storage, and tourism.
Speaking on agriculture, he noted that Tanzania has vast, fertile land available for investors interested in cultivating a variety of crops, including fruits like avocados and pineapples, as well as cash crops such as cashews, tea, and coffee.
On the topic of mining, Minister Kombo invited Kosovo investors to engage in mineral processing and value addition, particularly for rare minerals such as Tanzanite.
Regarding tourism, Minister Kombo stated that Tanzania aims to attract 5 million tourists by the end of 2025, hence there is a need for impactful investment, especially in the construction of tourist hotels and transportation infrastructure.
Speaking on the overall investment climate, Minister Kombo mentioned that Tanzania has made significant improvements, particularly in its legal frameworks and infrastructure.
He further explained that the country’s Foreign Policy, which focuses on Economic Diplomacy, continues to build investor confidence and encourage trade and tourism.
For his part, Mr. Arian Zeka, Executive Director of the Chamber, commended Minister Kombo’s visit and pledged continued collaboration.
He also committed to promoting Tanzania among Kosovo’s investors and business community for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Minister Kombo was in Kosovo to attend the Third International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security, held from June 2 to 3, 2025.
