The National Museum of Tanzania officially launched its highly anticipated Holiday Extravaganza program at Kasulu Secondary School in Ilala, Dar es Salaam.

This exciting event is part of the larger “Museum House to House” initiative, aimed at bringing cultural heritage directly to communities across the country.

The program offers a rich mix of cultural activities, traditional games, sports competitions, and entertainment, providing students and local residents with a unique opportunity to learn, engage, and celebrate their heritage together.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Chance Ezekiel, Head of Marketing and Public Relations for the National Museum, emphasized the importance of these programs in promoting cultural awareness.

“The Holiday Extravaganza is designed to make our rich history and traditions accessible and enjoyable for everyone, especially young people. We invite all Tanzanians and visitors to use the holiday season to explore our museums and heritage sites, taste authentic traditional foods, and participate in games and activities that connect us to our roots,” he said.

Students and staff at Kasulu Secondary School expressed their excitement about participating in the program.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn about our culture in a fun and interactive way,” said Amina Mwinyi, a student representative. “The activities not only educate us but also bring us closer as a community.”

The school’s headmaster also praised the initiative. “Programs like this enrich our curriculum and help foster pride in our national identity. We are grateful to the National Museum for involving our students in such meaningful experiences,” he remarked.

The Holiday Extravaganza promises to continue across various schools and communities, encouraging widespread participation in celebrating Tanzania’s vibrant cultural heritage during the holiday season.
