Changsha-The Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), has arrived in Changsha, China, for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and promoting trade between Tanzania and China.
Upon arrival at Huanghua International Airport, Kombo was warmly received by the Deputy Mayor of Hunan Province, Mr. Yang Wei.
The two leaders held constructive talks focused on expanding city-to-city cooperation between Tanzania and China in areas such as trade, investment, and infrastructure development.
Minister Kombo emphasized the importance of deepening partnerships at the municipal level, noting that closer collaboration between cities creates more opportunities for economic growth and people-to-people exchanges.
Shortly after his arrival, Minister Kombo chaired a strategic preparatory meeting with his delegation and staff from the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in China, led by Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar. Following that, Tanzania will participate in the 4th China–Africa Economic and Trade Expo, scheduled for June 13 to 15 in Changsha.
Around ten Tanzanian companies will showcase their products and services, highlighting the country’s growing potential in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and tourism.
