The National Sports Council (BMT) has officially announced the upcoming election of leaders for the Tanzania Professional Boxing Referees Organization (ATPBRO), scheduled to take place on 12th July 2025 in Dar es Salaam.
This election is a crucial step toward strengthening the leadership and governance of ATPBRO as it continues to promote professionalism and integrity in boxing officiating across the country.
Interested candidates can obtain nomination forms starting from 5th June to 5th July 2025. Forms will be available at the BMT offices located on the second floor of Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, as well as online via the Council’s official website: www.bmt.go.tz.
Candidate screening will be held on 11th July 2025, one day before the election. The positions open for election include Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary General, Treasurer, and four (4) Executive Committee Members.
The application fee is TZS 100,000 for senior positions (Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary General, and Treasurer), and TZS 50,000 for Executive Committee Member positions.
All payments should be made through the official Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GePG), and candidates must obtain a control number by calling 0713 380 499.
To qualify, candidates must be Tanzanian citizens with proven experience in boxing officiating. They must be at least 25 years of age, have no criminal convictions, and must have participated in recognized sports leadership or management training within Tanzania.
Candidates for Chairperson or Vice Chairperson must have at least five (5) years of verifiable experience in boxing officiating and must demonstrate strong leadership, integrity, and the ability to represent ATPBRO at both national and international levels. Applicants for the Treasurer position must hold a minimum of a diploma in a relevant field.
Completed forms must be submitted to the BMT office along with payment receipts and copies of academic and professional certificates.
