The management of Mtibwa Sugar Football Club has begun the search for a new Head Coach to lead the team’s technical bench in the upcoming 2024/2025 NBC Tanzania Premier League season.
Mtibwa Sugar secured promotion to the top-flight league after a successful campaign in the NBC Championship during the 2023/2024 season.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, the club’s Media Officer, Thobias Kifaru, confirmed that the application process is open to both local and international coaches—and the response has been overwhelming.
“We are currently in the process of recruiting a new Head Coach,” Kifaru said. “Applications are being received from both within and outside the country. Once we complete the screening process, we will appoint the most qualified candidate who meets the demands and standards of the Premier League.”he added
Kifaru also emphasized that the existing technical team will continue working and will assist the incoming coach in preparing the squad.
"The current technical staff will remain in place and serve as assistants to the new Head Coach during the team’s preparations,” he added.
Regarding the players, Kifaru revealed that the squad is currently on break while the management awaits the coach’s end-of-season report.
The report will outline recommendations and key areas for strengthening the team ahead of the new season.
“All players are currently on holiday. Once we receive the coach’s recommendations whether to add or release players we will follow through accordingly to build a stronger squad,” said Kifaru.
“As management, we are committed to supporting the technical team to ensure the club is well-prepared and competitive in the Premier League.”he added
