Anthony Ishika Mghamba, a native of Mhezi Ward in Same District, has officially picked and returned nomination forms seeking to contest for the parliamentary seat of Same West Constituency under the ACT-Wazalendo party.
Speaking after submitting the forms, Mghamba emphasized his commitment to bring meaningful change to the people of Same West, urging unity among citizens beyond political or religious lines.
"The time has come. We can no longer accept to be denied the development we rightfully deserve as taxpayers. Let us unite at the ballot box and fight for a #SameForAll with #InterestsForAll," Mghamba declared.
He stated that parliamentary representation is not a privilege for the elected individual, but a responsibility bestowed by the voters.
"Parliament is not for personal gain it belongs to the people. I am ready to be sent by the citizens of Same to make representation meaningful and inclusive,” he said.
Mghamba outlined key challenges facing the constituency, including high cost of living, unemployment, poor healthcare and education services, dilapidated infrastructure, and underdeveloped agricultural and business environments.
He pledged to champion economic and social reforms if elected, calling on all residents of Same to be part of a collective movement for change.
"‘Same for All’ is my call to every citizen of Same to come together and fight for a responsible government, eliminate poverty, and ensure quality services for everyone," he said.
He clarified that detailed policy proposals and development plans will be shared during the official campaign period, in line with the country’s election regulations.
Across the country, parties are continuing their internal nomination processes, with prospective candidates being urged to observe electoral ethics and the guidelines set by the National Electoral Commission (NEC).
