The NBC Premier League continues tomorrow with a highly anticipated fixture as Simba SC takes on Singida Black Stars at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

This matchup comes with added tension, as Simba edged out Singida with a narrow 1-0 victory in their first encounter earlier this season in Singida. Now, the stage is set for Singida to seek redemption on neutral ground.

Speaking at a press briefing today, May 27, 2025, both teams' coaches and players shared their preparations and expectations ahead of the showdown.

Simba SC Assistant Coach, Seleman Matola, acknowledged the challenge posed by Singida Black Stars, describing them as a strong and competitive side with quality players. Despite that, Matola expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness to secure all three points.

“Singida is a tough team in this league they’ve caused problems for many opponents,” Matola said. “But we’ve prepared well. After returning from our international match, the team entered camp immediately. This is an important rescheduled fixture for us, and we’re focused on getting the win.”he added

Matola added that his players are in good spirits and fully committed now that their international campaign is behind them.

Simba defender David Kameta reinforced his coach’s message, stating that the squad is well-prepared and motivated.

“We know we’re facing a difficult opponent, but we’re ready to fight. We’ll follow the coach’s instructions to the letter and do everything possible to secure the three points,” Kameta said.

Meanwhile, Singida Black Stars head coach David Ouma emphasized that while his team has already achieved its goal of qualifying for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, they remain focused on finishing the league strong.

“Our objective is to maintain competitiveness and earn a result against one of the league’s top sides,” said Ouma.

“Simba is just coming off international duty, which is the level we’re heading to next season. This match is an opportunity for us to prove ourselves and build momentum.”he added

Singida midfielder Benedict Haule echoed his coach’s confidence, stating that the team has learned from their previous mistakes and is eager to make amends.

“We know where we went wrong in the first leg. We’ve worked hard in training to fix those issues, and now we’re ready for battle,” Haule said.

“We urge our fans to come out in full force to support us. Their presence and energy mean everything to us.”he added
