Tanzania and Morocco to strengthen energy cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, has arrived in Morocco for a working visit. 

The aim of the visit is to strengthen the relationship between Tanzania and Morocco in the energy sector.

He was welcomed by Morocco’s Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Mohamed Ouhmed. A

lso present was Tanzania’s Ambassador to France, Ali Jabir Mwadini, who also represents Tanzania in Morocco.

While in Morocco, Dr. Biteko is expected to meet with Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali. 

The two ministers will discuss how to work together in the energy sector. Their talks will focus on areas such as rural electrification, renewable energy, and oil and gas development.

Dr. Biteko is not alone on this visit. 

He is joined by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dennis Londo. 

Also in the delegation are experts from the Ministry of Energy, the Rural Energy Agency (REA), Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), and the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC).

This visit shows Tanzania’s commitment to building strong partnerships in the energy sector. It is also part of Tanzania’s efforts to bring in new technology and investment through international cooperation.
