The Tanzania national football team, Taifa Stars, has called up a squad of 28 players in preparation for an international friendly match against South Africa (Bafana Bafana), set to take place on June 6 in South Africa.
The match serves as part of the team’s build-up for the upcoming COSAFA Cup, where Tanzania will face Eswatini on June 7 and Madagascar on June 11.
Head coach Hemed “Morocco” Selemani announced that the team will report to camp on June 2 and depart for South Africa the following day, on June 3.
He also noted that after the friendly match, players from Simba and Yanga clubs will be released to allow room for other players to join the squad for the COSAFA tournament.
The squad features a mix of local and international players, including Ayoub Selemani and Wilson Nangu (JKT Tanzania); Ally Salim Mohamed Hussein, Yusuph Kagoma, Abdurazak Hamza, Valentino Mashaka Shomari, Kibu Denis, and Shomari Kapombe (Simba); Antony Remy, Pascal Msindo, Feisal Salum, Lusajo Mwaikenda, and Iddy Selemani (Azam); Mishamo Daudi (KenGold); Mirajy Abdallah (Coastal Union); Vedastus Masinde (TMA Stars); Ibrahim Ame and Idrissa Stambuli (Mashujaa); Dickson Job and Sheikhan Khamis (Yanga); Ahmed Pipino and Selemani Mwalimu (Wydad Casablanca, Morocco); Hussein Masaranga (Singida Black Stars); Alphonce Mabula (Shamakhi, Azerbaijan); and Simon Msuva (Al-Talaba, Iraq).
