The Deputy Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), responsible for Health, Professor Tumaini Nagu, received a warm welcome from leaders, management, and staff of the office. She pledged her full cooperation to help achieve the government’s goals.
Prof. Nagu made these remarks during her introduction meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the President’s Office TAMISEMI, Mr. Adolf Ndunguru, as well as with some leaders, management, and staff, following her reception at the Ministry's offices located in the Government City of Mtumba, in Dodoma. She requested collaboration and promised to work together with the team to realize the vision and aspirations of Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
She expressed gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for trusting and appointing her to oversee the health sector, specifically primary healthcare, under the President’s Office TAMISEMI.
She humbly accepted the appointment and committed to working practically and closely with the team, acknowledging that experience is gained every day and that she is ready to work alongside the leaders and staff in the office.
Prof. Nagu emphasized that the President has given clear directives to improve primary healthcare services services meant to reach citizens promptly.
The President’s vision is to improve the health environment in the country. Therefore, as part of this office and with support from experienced colleagues, she believes that together, they can make this vision a reality “because one finger alone cannot kill a lice” (a Swahili proverb meaning collaboration is essential).
“Let me say a heartfelt thank you to the Permanent Secretary (Mr. Adolf Ndunguru) and all of you who welcomed me today. This was a big surprise and a strong indication that you are ready to work with me and that is what I humbly ask for. Let us work together so that we can serve Tanzanians and implement the vision of the President by supporting her efforts,” emphasized Prof. Tumaini Nagu.
The Permanent Secretary of the President’s Office TAMISEMI, Mr. Adolf Ndunguru, presented Prof. Nagu with the Strategic Plan and Organizational Structure of the office.
He noted that he knows Prof. Nagu as an experienced person in the health sector and believes she will do an excellent job.
He added that the President’s Office TAMISEMI, with its 17 departments and units, has received her warmly and is ready to follow her guidance to fulfill the goals and vision of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
On her part, Ms. Emma Lyimo, Director of Human Resources and Administration in the President’s Office TAMISEMI, spoke briefly before Mr. Ndunguru during the welcoming management meeting.
She expressed her great joy in having such a distinguished leader join the TAMISEMI family and appreciated the opportunity to meet and become acquainted with the leadership, management, and staff of the office.
