Prime Minister Majaliwa strengthens Tanzania-Japan ties in Tokyo meeting

 Tokyo, Japan –, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa met with  Ichiro Aisawa, Chairman of the Japan-Africa Parliamentarians Friendship Association, at the Japanese Parliament offices. 

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Tanzania and Japan, particularly through parliamentary collaboration.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Majaliwa emphasized the importance of deepening diplomatic and economic ties.

“Tanzania values its longstanding friendship with Japan. Strengthening parliamentary cooperation is key to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting development,” he said.

Aisawa expressed Japan’s continued interest in building strong relations with African nations, including Tanzania.

“We are committed to fostering closer ties with Tanzania, not only through parliamentary exchange but also through sustainable investment and people-to-people connections,” he stated.

The two leaders explored opportunities in trade and investment, with the Prime Minister highlighting Tanzania’s strategic location and improving business environment.

“Tanzania offers vast potential for Japanese investors, especially in sectors like infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and tourism,” Prime Minister Majaliwa noted.

In addition to economic cooperation, the Prime Minister extended a formal invitation to Hon. Aisawa to visit Tanzania.

“I warmly invite you to visit Tanzania and experience our hospitality, rich culture, and world-renowned tourist attractions such as Mount Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti,” he said.

The meeting marked a significant step in reinforcing Tanzania-Japan relations and demonstrated a shared commitment to fostering long-term partnerships between the two countries.
