ELIMISHA, a community-based organization operating in Mbeya Region, has received equipment donations from the UK-based charity Tools with A Mission (TWAM) to help women gain practical skills in tailoring and entrepreneurship.

Speaking after receiving the items, ELIMISHA Executive Director Debora Mwanyanje said the support will provide women with hands-on skills, giving them opportunities for self-employment and formal job prospects.

“These tools will help us empower women with practical knowledge, in line with our motto—ELIMISHA: Let’s Build a Strong Society in Tanzania,” Mwanyanje said.

She expressed deep appreciation to TWAM for the generous donation and affirmed the equipment would serve its intended purpose—uplifting women and youth in the region.

She also thanked the Government of Tanzania through the Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) for facilitating the shipment and reception of the tools.

The donated items include four electric sewing machines, one computer, and several small-scale farming tools.

ELIMISHA has been working closely with local communities to promote education and awareness that enables citizens to seize available opportunities and become productive members of society.

Elizabeth Nyivambe, ELIMISHA's Program Coordinator, noted that the organization has been offering training to women on self-employment, and the new equipment will enhance their ability to provide practical sessions.

“We work with women, especially those who have been abandoned after giving birth—to help them reclaim their dignity and achieve their goals,” said Nyivambe.

Through this initiative, ELIMISHA hopes to contribute further to national development by equipping disadvantaged groups with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
