Sixty participants are set to benefit from a judo training program scheduled to kick off on April 7 at the Dar es Salaam Police Academy Dojo in Kurasini.
The program will be led by French coach Nicolas Jean Malet, who previously trained Andrew Thomas Mlugu during his preparation camp in France for the Olympic Games.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, the Secretary-General of the Tanzania Judo Association (JATA), Innocent Mallya, said the program will benefit 50 athletes and 10 coaches.
"The coach's visit aims to enhance the skills of our national team players while also introducing judo to schools interested in adopting the sport," said Mallya.
He added that preparations for Malet’s arrival are in the final stages. "He is expected to arrive in Tanzania on April 6 and will conduct the training until April 12."
Additionally, the coach will provide guidance on the latest judo rule changes, which came into effect this year.
