Following a 2-0 defeat to Al Masry, Simba SC Chairman Murtaza Mangungu has called on the club’s supporters to unite and contribute to the team's preparation for the second-leg quarterfinal match of the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) against Al Masry.
The crucial match will take place on April 9, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Mangungu emphasized the importance of fans playing their part in the team’s success, urging them to attend the match to boost morale, offer prayers, and provide the support needed to secure a positive result on home turf. A strong performance at home will be vital for advancing to the semifinals.
"We have the ability to beat them, but solid preparation is key. If we prepare well, we will achieve our goals and progress to the next stage," Mangungu stated, stressing that proper planning and focus would be crucial in turning the situation around.
He continued, "First and foremost, we finished the first leg without any injuries, and we are thankful for that. Although we missed several clear chances and didn’t capitalize on the opportunities created, we are confident that the coach and the technical bench will analyze the mistakes and make the necessary adjustments for the next match."
"We are eager to play at home and show our fans what we can do on our own turf. We believe in our ability to win, and with God's guidance, we will overcome Al Masry and secure a spot in the semifinals," Mangungu added.
For Simba to qualify for the semifinals, Mangungu emphasized that the team must win by at least two goals to either force penalties or secure a victory by more than two goals.
