Equity Bank has emerged as the champion of the Simba Bankers Bonanza, which took place today at the University of Dar es Salaam sports grounds.
In an exciting final, Equity defeated NBC 1-0, securing the top spot in the competition.
Simba's Public Relations and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, extended his congratulations to all participants, as well as to the winners and runners-up.
"Congratulations to Equity Bank for clinching the Simba Bankers Bonanza title. Kudos to NBC for finishing as the runners-up, and a big thank you to all the banks that participated in this inaugural event," he said.
Ally further explained that the event was designed to build excitement for the upcoming match against Al Masry, scheduled for April 9 this year at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
He also highlighted the potential for future partnerships between Simba and the banks, encouraging further collaboration for both individual matches and future tournaments.
"Although the event has concluded today, it's not over yet. We have an after-party at Small Planet in Sinza. Tomorrow will be a rest day, and we’ll continue from there until Tuesday. Afterward, we’ll head to work directly from the event, so everyone will change into their work clothes," Ally explained.
The Simba Bankers Bonanza will continue today, Sunday, at 3:00 p.m. at the University of Dar es Salaam Football Ground.
Participating banks include NMB, Equity, NBC, Amana, Stanbic, TCB, and Azania, with staff members who are Simba fans representing each institution.
