Following the successful completion of the "My Tanzania Roadshow 2025" tourism promotion campaign in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, institutions under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, including TTB, TANAPA, and NCAA, held important discussions with tourism agents promoting Tanzania’s tourism in London, United Kingdom.
The meeting brought together 15 tourism agents operating in the UK market, with representatives from the Tanzanian Embassy in the UK, as well as senior officials from TTB, TANAPA, and NCAA.
The purpose of the meeting was to raise the agents' awareness of the broader tourism trends in Tanzania, especially new and emerging tourism products, while also highlighting the government's ongoing efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure both inside and outside of protected areas.
After the discussions, TTB’s Marketing Director, Mr. Ernest Mwamwaja, shared that the meeting provided valuable insights into the perspectives and specific needs of UK tourists.
He added that it also allowed the Tanzanian delegation to better understand the challenges faced by tourism agents and explore practical solutions to improve the overall tourism experience for visitors to Tanzania.
Mr. Tim Henshall, the Tourism Officer at the Tanzanian Embassy in the UK, presented the findings of his research on Tanzania’s tourism trends in the UK market.
His study highlighted, among other aspects, the preferred destinations for UK tourists, how they obtain information about Tanzania, and their perceptions of the quality of tourism services and attractions in the country.
Meanwhile, TANAPA’s Assistant Commissioner for Conservation and Head of Business Development, Mrs. Jully Lyimo, discussed the agency's efforts to diversify Tanzania’s tourism offerings and expand the geographical scope of tourism across the country.
Additionally, NCAA’s Senior Conservation Officer for tourism, Mr. Iddi Mavura, presented the organization’s initiatives to improve tourism infrastructure within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and introduce new tourism products to further distribute visitors across the region.
The Tanzanian delegation seized the opportunity to encourage the tourism agents to vote for Tanzania’s tourism attractions, which have been nominated in the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) across various categories.
